HISTORY
Mike was born in St. Louis to a waitress and a truck driver. There seemed to be little hope for him to ever achieve much in his life, coming from roots like that (his parents weren’t the brightest crayons in the box either). But Mike seemed to be an anomaly. He was, despite his genes, a very bright individual. Bright enough to breeze through high school and earn himself enough scholarships to pay for college. He chose to stay close to home, attending University of Missouri-Columbia, with a focus in art. More specifically, graphic design. He’d always been one to mess around on the various art programs on computers, and had worked on his high school’s yearbook and newspaper. He likes to claim that they only look as good as it does now is because he worked so hard on them when he attended.

After graduating from Mizzou with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art, he floated about aimlessly for a few years. He worked in at least four different places, never quite finding his niche. For the most part, he always found that his employers were far too serious, and left due to conflicts. Then, in early 2007, he sent in his resume to a magazine in New York called “Spent”. While he’d never read the magazine (his magazine reading extended only to Playboy and GamePro), he’d heard good things about it from colleagues. Besides, they were hiring. And it was in New York! Exciting…

It took some time for Mike to settle into his new job, but one could say that he's quite settled now. With his easy-going manner, he's made friends easily. Plus, it doesn't hurt that he's got plenty of fellow geeks around him. In September of 2007, his life took a small detour when he was involved in a car accident. He was left with a badly broken leg, while his roommate suffered major head trauma. They've both since recovered, though it left Mike crippled for a time, and without a roommate. He's since filled the empty spot in his apartment with co-worker Russell Merrick, which he finds more amusing than he should.
